Before Araya hits Haruyuki, Kuroyukihime tell him to say "Burst Link" which logs him into Brain Burst. Immediately after the Brain Burst program finish its install, Araya and his gang arrives, scolding Haru for not bringing lunch to them, to which Kuroyukihime then provokes hiHaso that Araya hit Haruyuki. Kuroyukihime then introduces Haru to Brain Burst, a program that allows users to "accelerate" their brain waves to make time appear to stand still. Kuroyukihime then comments, saying that she asked him to be there. As Haruyuki is looking around, Megumi notices him and asks if he needs help. The next day at lunch, Haruyuki appears at the designated area, where 1st year students normally aren't allowed. As Haru runs away, he turns to see Chiyu crying, making him feel guilty.Īs he returns to play squash again, he discovers his high scores has been beaten by Kuroyukihime, the popular Student Council Vice-President who invites him for lunch tomorrow to "change his reality". After that, she invites him to have lunch with her to let him forget the problem, but he refuses her, taking it as pity, and pushes her away causing the basket full of sandwiches that she was holding to fall onto the floor spilling the contents.
Chiyu then suggests that he should report the bullying to the school to get them kicked out for some time, but Haru decline that idea because it will make the situation worse. After they got out of the bathroom and walking in the hallway, Haru told Chiyu about the bullies.
As Haru is about to play another game, he is Forcefully De-Linked by Chiyu, who somehow got into the locked door and punched him in the head. Haru's childhood friend, Chiyuri Kurashima, found him when he is playing it and sees his score, telling him that he's an idiot for wasting time in the game so much, and then suggesting that he link out so, to which he declines as Chiyu then links out. Afterwards, he locked himself in a room inside the bathroom and enters the school's virtual world to play virtual squash, where he always gets high scores. After Haruyuki complied to the request, he then went to male bathroom to vent his frustration.
While Haruyuki Arita is in a class, he recieves an email from Araya, one of the bullies at his school, telling him to get his lunch, and meet him on the school roof at lunch.
